Present Status of Indian Steel Industry

According to the Press Information Bureau, India positions second in producing crude steel and fourth in producing steel in the International markets. This industry has seen an immense growth by producing steel and its allied products in large quantity. Steel is a ever green metal which is and will always be in high demand in several sectors like construction, housing, transportation, railways, airports, etc. As per the prediction of National Steel Policy, India may produce 110 million tonnes of steel by the year 2020. The scenario that is booming in the market clearly shows that India will reach to these expected units of production on time, if this situation keeps flourishing like this. This clearly depicts that Indian Steel Industry has a major contribution in the economical development of the nation and there is more source of employment in the country.
